So the time has come to finally call it quits on Anvilmar. It's been fun these last two years dancing around in the top three and leading the Horde altogether. We wish everyone on the server we're leaving behind the best of luck: but ultimately the WoW community is shrinking: therefore it's time for us to move on.
We're looking forward to recruiting new connections on our new home of Gorefiend. Recruitment is open for several classes and specs. For those seeking a position we sort of peaked out back in October before the server fell apart. Our record at that time was:

Wherever I Go It's 310% Faster

Well - I guess Foot can take the silver for the Server's Rusted Proto-Drakes. That's what we get for messing around about Hard Modes! Grats Ravage for taking the gold. Nonetheless - it's time to farm em' up for the whole guild. OH GOODY GOODY I CAN'T WAIT...ZZZzz...zzzz.....

Late Update: God Of Death Bad At His Job

Ok, Ok, FINE! I'm updating. A little late...just a few days. So yeah, after way less than half the wipes we projected, the ancient evil that has claimed the minds of so many titans is now dead. Yogg-Saron has been defeated on Heroic Mode a week ago. After you get him down, you start wondering why you ever had trouble with him to begin with. A fun fight: I promise (when everything goes according to plan!)

In addition, we've started farming our rusted proto drakes claiming hard mode achievements on XT002, Hodir, Thorim, Iron Council, and various others in the Normal Mode Ulduar raid. We're looking at riding around on spiffy new mounts in a matter of weeks so stay tuned!

Now we turn ourselves to working toward that tons-of-fun Steelbreaker and all the tank-spankage he will deliver. We've knocked out the three towers Heroic Flame Levi and we'll add that forth to the agenda real soon. XT002 proved a bit more of a challenge in hard mode, claims that breaking the heart is the only hard part might have been a little bit of a stretch.

The Great Foot Race 2009

The Great FOOT race is a Anvilmar Special Event hosted and sponsored by The Foot Clan and other guilds on Anvilmar. The race will consist of a weekend run from one continent of Azeroth to the other with the first player to reach the other side on their newly created level 1 Alt wins! Various other prizes will be awarded to later finishers. The entire event will be FRAP's and released on YouTube with honorable mention to the racers, the sponsoring guilds, and the race officials from and who will make the race possible.

The Long Wait For 3.1: Achievements Update

Achievements Update

I've been putting this off for a long time, but we've been reduced to posting about achievements rather than brand spankin' new boss kills. I blame Blizzard. With 3.1 months later than everyone expected, and little else to do but gimmick fights, instance farming, and PVP - achievements as a guild is what we've been reduced to. My complaints aside: most these achievements rival end-game boss encounters in difficulty. Here's an update of how we're coming along on many.

The dreaded "Sarth3D" is long dead and most recently on farm. Folks like Riyan and Kly are running around with a new color drake they'll probably never ride. Especially Riyan who's on his way to the Air Force. Good luck bud!

We've knocked out numerous achievements for Naxx that don't matter including 3 minute Patchwerk on 10 man and Heroic. We earned Undying, and are a few dead bodies short of earning The Immortal. We're looking at least a couple more weeks until you see Foot Clan raiders riding around on Plagued Proto Drakes at 310% speed.

Next on our agenda are 6 Minutes Malygos Normal and Heroic and Sarth3D 10 man - arguably harder than the 25 man version. I don't think any of these are going to be a problem for us as a guild, but I do forsee lighter wallets from the repair bill. Immortal is just something that's going to have to come in time.

Representin' In The Arena

Over the course of the last few weeks, I've advised everyone in The Foot Clan to do what they can to keep the game interesting. While many of you have chosen to dive into alts, alt specs, PuG's, or alternative games - a big portion of the raider core chose PVP and Arenas as their time-sink.

The results have been great. Our pre-mades are challenging and was undefeated in battlegrounds on an organized night (though the Realm Forums will lead you to believe any time we enter a BG it's always an organized premade - god help us if we lose: we're gonna hear about it) and you've nearly maxed out your guild leader on honor purchases.

The Arena results have been great too. A big congratulations to Retromen and Doom for breaking 2350 rating in 2v2 as Holy Paladin/Death Knight. They've earned their Flawless Victors titles and are shooting for Gladiator. Also in the twos department, Eyeshock and Darnon hit 1650 a few weeks ago with the off-flavor combo of Feral Druid and Arms warrior, but haven't played since. Muufasa and Arukasa reached 1750 with Survival Hunter/Resto Shaman. While there are other honorable mentions, I just plain don't know them all.

In larger teams, Doom, Eyeshock, and Retromen are still hovering at just below 2k with 1950-1980 and haven't taken the time in the last week to seal the deal and get their achievement with DK/Holy/Fury. The 5's team is also locked at 1600 and hasn't been played in nearly 2 weeks. A real shame to waste those points.

Keep it up Foot Clan. I'd like to see more Arena teams and more raiders representing us in Battlegrounds and Arena. As a reminder, we will organized our BG premades on the Off night of Sunday at 5:00PM Server until 3.1.

A new raiding guild on Anvilmar?

    Introducing The Hand Clan, a casual raiding guild for those willing to step up their game on the Anvilmar server. The Hand Clan has linked guild chat with The Foot Clan will often join them on raids until they have suffice numbers to raid independently.
    You can help. Head over to the recruitment forums, and put in an application. As we are recruiting for Heroic raids, the entry level gear is best in slot epics/blues than can be attained outside of 10 and 25 man raids. That means heroics, reputation, crafted, and badges.
    We're also looking for the Hand Clan officers of tomorrow. While The Foot officers are managing the raids, schedule, and Hand Clan affairs for the time being, we would like to see Hand grow to become self-managed.

The Race To 80 Begins!

So Wraith Of The Lich King is now LIVE! And we've got our copies. The core of the guild is all prepped and racing for Naxx. With a raid guild to build, and Naxx in our sights, there's no time to waste to see which guilds come out on top and establish themselves early.

From the meeting, we got a lot of discussion, a lot of feedback, and it's carried on to the forums. Don't let the forums die while you're drilling out those levels. Stay up to date on the current events as they're important to your future raiding.

As a reminder, The Foot Clan is actively recruiting for their Thirty-Six raid spots to field three 10 mans and a full 25 man with reserves. If interested, why not hit up the forums, introduce yourself, and shoot us an application?

Only PuG's until WoTLK for FOOT

We've been holding off announcing this, but The Foot Clan has temporarily closed it's doors on progression raiding. It was a good run, clearing far more than we ever anticipated in only two short months to includes dozens of bosses, over a dozen bear mounts, and titles for so many raiders.

To say I'm proud of our accomplishments under such conditions would be an understatement. I look forward to the competitive raiding WoTLK will offer us, and I'm fully confident you ninjas will deliver.

In the meantime, let's try out those new skills from 3.0 and put some achievements under our belt. Expect weekly PuG's on enemy cities, battlegrounds, and 25 man bosses to stack up on your WoWBox Live Points.
